The federation is a sectoral association on the regional level for the employers in the engineering industries who have the will to act as a unit in developing and enhancing the environment of their sector's business. The federation is represented by a general assembly and a board, and it is a non-profit organization

 

AFEI objectives are summarized in supporting and promoting the professional & sector-related interests of its members vis-à-vis the international institutions and other important sector organizations on the regional and international levels, and providing specialized, sector-specific services to the members in harmonizing professional norms and practices which affects their businesses.

The federation has excellent relations with the Arab League, Arab Economic Unity Council, Arab Industrial Development & Minining Organization, Arab Sectoral Federations, UNIDO, UNCTAD, and other orgainzations.
