National Center for Human Resources Development (NCHRD) was established in 2004 under the umbrella of the Egyptian Investors Associations Union (EIAU) which is an institution representing the private sector. EIAU encompasses more than 25 Investor associations in Egypt.

As NCHRD represents the private sector in Egypt, it has a major role in the Mubarak Kohl Initiative (MKI) that is applying the dual system in vocational education. The role of NCHRD as the private partner for the dual system is formalized in the MOU signed with the Ministry of Education in 2005.

Within the context of the partnership, Regional Units for Dual Systems (RUDS) were established in /22/ governorates in Egypt to administer /16,000/ apprentices training in /75/ schools/training centers with /30/ different trades.

NCHRD steering committee encompassing representatives of the private and public sectors holds responsibility of addressing issues concerning teachers, schools, equipment…etc.
